Below is range of options for working with Narelle.
Narelle is based in Perth, Western Australia.
Towards the end of this page is an outline of each PL Session.
2 Hour PL

- Please note this is the first, two-hours of a whole-day, five-part, video PL with Narelle and Paul.
- This Introductory, 2-hour session can be completed as a stand alone PL or as part of the whole-day PL.
- The whole day PL is run best run broken up over multiple sessions.
Any of these sessions can be run over two, one-hour sessions via Teams (see pricing below).
Please note, Narelle does not offer single, one-hour, face-to-face, after-school PL sessions.
1 Hour PL
via Teams $450 (excl. GST)
Complete any level of “Bond Blocks” or “Solving NAPLAN-Style Word Problems” PL over several sessions via Teams.
Whole-Day

8:30 am – 3:00 pm. Please note, high-demand, student-free days are often booked at least six months in advance.

Interstate: Narelle is based in WA. Prices start from $4500 (excl GST) for a single-school, whole-day in South Australia. Flights to the east coast cost slightly more. Send Narelle an email to chat.
Half Day PL (face to face)*
3 hours, before or after lunch. For example, 8:30am to 12:00pm with a break for morning tea.

A deep look into using the Bond Blocks Addition & Subtraction Core Kit: theory, assessment, implementation
Build your capacity to lead Bond Blocks Additon & Subtraction Core Kit implementation in your school.
Suitable for:
- Classroom Teachers of Years 1 to 3.
- Classroom Teachers of Years 4 to 6 who have students who add and subtract using their fingers.
- Intervention Teachers and Education Assistants who support students with difficulties in maths.
- Numeracy Leaders looking for a whole school approach in maths.
This day is targeted to those who have decided to start using the Core Kit and want to learn more. However, there are no pre-requisites for this session. There will be a brief review of some of the information from “Introducing Bond Blocks Addition & Subtraction Core Kit PL” (level 1) but most of the day is new content.
PL Outline:
- Response-To-Intervention framework.
- Research: Characteristics of students who are at risk in maths.
- Theory: Concrete-Representational-Abstract approach
- Theory: Connecting Mathematical Language
- Theory: Explicit teaching and a Sequenced Curriculum
- Activity Boards from the Bonds of 10 and Ten Plus Bonds chapters
- Detailed look at the Placement Test, Monitoring Tools and whole-school tracking sheets.
- Analysing test data at different levels (Tier One Whole Class and Tier Two/Three Intervention)
- In depth focus on Implementation and Planning
- Time will be allocated for you to ask questions, explore the resources and network with others.

Solving Bond Blocks Addition & Subtraction Core Kit Word Problems (Level 3)

Leverage your Addition & Subtraction Core Kit for advanced teaching using the bar model to solve addition and subtraction word problems.

Any school that has been using the Core Kit for a while and is ready to upskill in this difficult to teach area.

- Approaches that don’t work when solving word problems. This includes the ‘key word approach’ where key words are matched to a single operation.
